Short answers to the things families ask us most.

What is Traded Tales?

A Yoto card library by mail, based in Mesa, Arizona. You borrow cards each month, enjoy them, mail them back, and pick a fresh set. Borrow The Card, Keep The Adventure.

What do I need?

A Yoto Player or Yoto Mini. Our cards play just like the ones you buy.

How do Yoto players work?

Pop a card in and press play! For setup tips and anything about the players themselves, visit Yoto’s help center.

Can my kids listen on more than one player?

Each card plays on one player at a time, so it’s easy to share across siblings.

How do credits work?

1 credit = 1 card. Your plan gives you a set number of credits every month, and unused credits roll over.

How long can we keep the cards?

30 days of listening fun, plus 5 days for the mail. Your due date shows on your Account page, and a prepaid return envelope comes in every package. Running late? No stress: you have a 7-day grace period after your due date.

Is shipping free?

Yes, both ways. Your cards arrive in the mail, and the return envelope is prepaid.

Can I see every card before I pick?

Yes! The library shows every card, even the ones that are out with another family right now. You can filter by age and type.

Can we save cards for later?

Yes! Once you’re signed in, tap the ♡ on any card to add it to your family’s Favorites or to a list for each of your kids, like “Emma’s list.” Find them all under My lists, where you can see what’s available and pick straight from a list. Add your kids in My account to get a list for each one.

Where do I see my tracking number?

Sign in and open My account. Your orders, their status, and tracking links are all there.

Can I change my plan?

Yes! Card-paying members can switch plans anytime with Manage my plan on your Account page. Every plan change, including upgrades to Voyager, starts on your next billing date, with no proration. Your new price and monthly credits start then. ESA families, just send us a note.

Can we take a break?

Yes! Card-paying members can pause for 1 month, once every 6 months, with the Pause 1 month button on your Account page. Send back any cards you have at home first. If some are still out, your pause starts on its own as soon as they’re back. You won’t be billed during the pause, your unused credits are saved for you, and picks open back up after the month. ESA families can simply skip a ClassWallet payment.

Can I pay with Arizona ESA funds?

Yes! Traded Tales is an approved AZ ESA vendor. When you sign up, check the “Paying through ClassWallet” box and pick your plan. We’ll just ask for a card on file in case a card gets lost or damaged (no charge today). Then go ahead and pick your cards right away. We’ll ship them as soon as your ClassWallet payment comes through. Questions? Send us a note.

What if a card gets lost or damaged?

If a card is lost or damaged beyond normal wear, the replacement fee is $25 for standard cards and $60 for premium cards. Premium cards are marked in the library and listed in our Terms. We’ll always reach out before charging anything.

Can I give Traded Tales as a gift?

Yes! A 3-month gift is a sweet, clutter-free present for birthdays and holidays. Give a gift to get a gift code right away, plus a printable gift card. We can email it to them on the day you pick, or you can give it in person. Got a gift code? Enter it when you sign up or on your Account page. Already have a plan? You can still use it: the gift starts when your paid month ends, and we pause your plan’s billing for the 3 gift months. Gift codes are good for 24 months from the day they’re bought.

Do you have a referral program?

We do, and we love it when families share us with friends! Find your personal link under My account. Your friend gets 50% off their first month, and once they have signed up, you get 2 extra cards as our thank-you. There’s no limit, so share away!

Can I get reminders by text?

Yes! Text “Hi” to 602-935-YOTO (9686) from your phone, and we’ll text you a friendly heads-up before your cards are due. You can text that number with questions any time, too.

Is Traded Tales part of Yoto?

No, we’re an independent family-run library that rents genuine Yoto cards.
